It is with great joy that I got to photograph this wrap. Kristi, the owner and head goddess over at Wrapsody, asked me a while back to design a Tree of Life in coral. How could I pass up such an amazing opportunity?
From my mind to my sketchbook to a digital image sent across the globe to make a copper stamp for the batik process, this feels more like a dream to me than a reality. Because I cannot craft a finer description than Kristi herself, here are her words below.
The tree of life, with its deep, broad roots and its reaching, wide branches, has been a symbol of life and motherhood for millenia. For this particular design, we reached out to Cory Janiak, a photographer, Wrapsody Brand Ambassador, and a technical artist specializing in seaweed, and asked her to help us design something reminiscent of a tree from the ocean, as we are all born from the water in our mother’s womb. This beautiful wrap, both earthy and bright, appears to shimmer in the sunlight, and you will almost sense the Gregorian Coral from Cory’s sketch shifting slightly in the current.
